With today’s pressures for higher speeds and lower costs, there is a need to increase productivity, shorten delivery times and reduce expenses. MailProof AFP Viewer helps you accomplish these objectives with accurate file viewing and generation of proofs right from your desktop.

MailProof lets you display MO:DCA (AFPDS) files on your Windows workstation. What you see is truly what you print! No more fuzzy displays with substituted fonts! MailProof uses the actual in-line fonts right from the AFP file or from external font resources. Tools are provided for measuring positions and distances on the display to allow adjustments to be made before getting to hard copy. You can rotate and zoom the page view for comfortable viewing.  A new 'anti-aliased' zoomed-down display gives improved readability at smaller sizes.

If your document will actually be printed on paper that has been conventionally-printed with a fixed design, MailProof allows you to import an image of that design and superimpose your AFP pages over it. Tools are provided to allow moving the two images independently so that they can be registered together.

This feature lets you check the fit of the AFP text and graphics with the preprinted design and adjust for any problems before they cause production delays.

The image on your display can be printed to any Windows-supported graphics printer or plotter. The printed output is scaled to the exact size of the real AFP output and the AFP printer resolution is simulated as accurately as possible within the capabilities of the Windows printer. When using the preprint image, the combined image is printed, creating a perfect proof of the production job. Sections of the page can also be clipped for printing.  You can also print to Adobe's PDFWriter or Distiller to create PDF files.

It is valuable to be able to add notes to the file in places of interest or where problems are identified. MailProof provides tools to let you add notes in colored areas at any point on any page. These notes are recorded in a separate file that is linked to the AFP file and they are shown on a separate display layer that can be turned on and off. You can print the notes with the page proof if you wish.

Navigating the File

You can easily page through the file one page at a time or jump directly to any page by number. You can also jump directly to either end of the file.  MailProof shows a list of Page Names from which you can directly jump to the required page.  If you add notes to the file, MailProof can jump sequentially from one note to the next in sequence, showing the relevant section of the next page containing the next note.
