With today’s pressures for higher
speeds and lower costs, there is a need to increase productivity,
shorten delivery times and reduce expenses. MailProof IJPDS Viewer helps you
accomplish these objectives with accurate file viewing and generation of
proofs right from your desktop.
The IJPDS Viewer / Proofer
MailProof lets you display Scitex
IJPDS printer files on your Windows workstation. The display is an exact
dot-for-dot image of what your ink-jet printer will produce. Tools are
provided for measuring positions and distances on the display to allow
adjustments to be made before getting to hard copy. You can rotate and
zoom the page view for comfortable viewing. The position of the
printheads can be shown on screen and on the hardcopy proof, and you can
adjust each printhead independently for accurate simulation of on-press
adjustments. You can display and print printhead images in any color,
thus simulating different inks.
MailProof supports Scitex 3000,
3500/3600 and 6240/5240 systems with up to 16 RIPs, the VersaMark 90 and
Business Color Press systems. It can display RIPs independently on
separate ‘web’ images, each with a separate preprinted-form image.
Adding a Preprint Image
If your document will actually be
printed on paper that has been conventionally-printed with a fixed
design, MailProof allows you to import an image of that design and
superimpose your ink-jet text over it. Tools are provided to allow
moving the two images independently so that they can be registered
together.
This feature lets you check the fit of
the IJPDS text and graphics with the preprinted design and adjust for
any problems before they cause production delays.
Printing Hardcopy Proofs
The image on your display can be
printed to any Windows-supported graphics printer or plotter. The
printed output is scaled to the exact size of the real ink-jet output
and the Scitex printer resolution is simulated as accurately as possible
within the capabilities of the Windows printer. When using the preprint
image, the combined image is printed, creating a perfect proof of the
production job. Sections of the page can also be clipped for printing.
Searching the File
MailProof has a Text Search feature
that allows you to search for words or phrases in the IJPDS file and
limit the search to a 'side' of the paper or an area of the page.
The search will match capitalization and will match complete words if
requested.
Annotating the File
It is valuable to be able to add notes
to the file in places of interest or where problems are identified.
MailProof provides tools to let you add notes in colored squares at any
point on any page. These notes are recorded in a separate file that is
linked to the IJPDS file and they are shown on a separate display layer
that can be turned on and off. You can print the notes with the page
proof if you wish.
Evaluation Program
We have a free 30-day Evaluation
Program for MailProof IJPDS Viewer. You can download the software from the Downloads
page or contact us and we will send a copy. MailProof runs on any
IBM-compatible PC running Windows95/98 or WindowsNT/2000/XP. You can
install the trial software on as many computers as you wish, allowing
everyone in your organization to try it out.
